Official Offices for Records and Custody Questions

Irion County Sheriff's Office, ask for the records custodian: 325-835-2551. The Sheriffs' Association of Texas directory lists 114 W. Sherwood Ave., Mertzon, TX 76941-0017. Mertzon's emergency directory separately identifies the Sheriff's Office at 209 N. Park View St., Mertzon. The published sources do not identify a separate records unit, so call first to confirm the present records custodian, accepted request method, and physical submission address.

Tom Green County Detention Center: 4382 N. US Hwy 277, San Angelo, TX 76905, 325-659-6597. This is the regional adult-custody contact for the Tom Green booking system. The Tom Green Sheriff's Office lists regular office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; call before visiting because facility access and records availability can differ.

Irion County Clerk and District Clerk: 325-835-2421. The county identifies Shirley Graham as clerk and lists general office hours of Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clerk records form lists P.O. Box 736 / 209 N. Parkview, Mertzon, TX 76941-0736, and shirley.graham@co.irion.tx.us. Confirm the current lunch-hour schedule, fees, and case-copy procedure before going or sending payment.

For a court document, the published form lists $5 plus $1 per page, paid in advance, for a specific document. That is a court-copy fee, not a verified Sheriff booking-photo fee. No published Irion or Tom Green booking-photo fee or fixed turnaround was found.

Use the path that matches the question:

  • For a current or recently released adult booking, begin with the official Tom Green inmate roster, then call the detention center if the record needs confirmation.
  • For an Irion arrest report, incident record, affidavit, or local booking copy, call the Irion County Sheriff and ask for the records custodian.
  • For an Irion court filing or disposition, check the District Clerk, County Clerk, and the linked docket service. A court record is different from a live custody record.
  • For a current warrant question, use Sheriff's Most Wanted for the official confirmation route. Do not treat a court docket or a regional list as final proof of live warrant status.
  • For a sentenced Texas state prisoner, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate search. TDCJ does not provide public inmate photographs through its email-information service.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. Those systems answer different custody questions and do not serve as an Irion booking roster.
